Solar Module development requires many unique, industry-specific manufacturing processes, but the best ones are designed by taking advantage of existing manufacturing techniques and supply chain infrastructure.
In 2006, management at FlexOne decided to diversify and take advantage of this high-growth industry by allocating resources to gain knowledge and expertise in solar module development, and by working closely with solar OEMs in its San Jose facility.
As a part of this commitment, FlexOne has been providing complete services in Solar Module (PV) Manufacturing to its clients offering product development, quick turn prototypes and pilot runs. In addition FlexOne has the capability and required capacity to dedicate production lines to run small volume (2-4MW) from its facility in San Jose.
Core expertise includes:
- Design for Manufacturability(DFM) and Design for Reliability (DFR) assistance
- Tabbing and stringing of solar cells by J-Std-001 certified soldering personnel
- EVA lamination (large laminator on site)
- Photovoltaic concentrators, complete with heatsink and junction box attachment
